Creating a lighter outdoor experience
OPEN COMFORT, REIMAGINED
Nexbie began with a simple idea: outdoor shoes should feel lighter, cooler, and more natural in motion.
Our Story
We love those outdoor days that move easily between trail, camp, and water. But footwear built for those moments often feels too closed. To keep water out, many shoes rely on waterproof membranes that also trap heat, sweat, and moisture inside—turning a trek into a sauna. So Nexbie began with a different vision: a lighter, more open shoe designed to breathe, drain, and move naturally across sun and water.
A Different Way to Build a Shoe
When a shoe is built around sealing everything out, breathability will always be working against the design. That meant the answer couldn’t be a better membrane or a lighter lining. It began with a different idea of construction—one shaped around openness from the start, through Nexbie’s 3D-printed lattice structure.
What That Structure Makes Possible
Built to go beyond traditional layered footwear, Nexbie’s open lattice geometry improves breathability and helps water drain and dry faster. Negative Poisson’s ratio response, pressure distribution, cushioning, and energy return then work together to absorb impact, balance force, and keep movement feeling lighter, cooler, and more natural underfoot. In other words, Nexbie solves comfort through structure, not by adding another layer.
